Bob Grove/Grove Enterprises Price Comparisons

In this day of a poor economy and high unemployment you should be shopping for the best deals when making your next scanner, shortwave, or accessory purchase. Just remember if you have a set budget to spend and are able to find the item at a lessor price then you'll be able to afford to purchase more items with the same dollar!

In various forums I've expressed my opinion that Bob Grove at Grove Enterpises in Brasstown, NC has been charging prices which are higher than other radio dealers. Now I'm going to show you the proof. That's right, are you looking for a radio, antenna or other accessory? Then check out the chart below before you pad the pockets of Bob Grove.

It appears that Bob Grove recently lowered the prices on a few of his antennas. However he is still higher than other reliable internet sources. Just take the ScanTenna, after Grove lowered the price you STILL can purchase this antenna from MCM Electronics for $9.00 less! Why would you give Bob Grove $9.00 profit simply to say you purchased from Bob Grove???

I truly believe that any business or individual is allowed to charge whatever price they want to for items they are selling. I do not believe in price setting or any form of price controls. Grove can charge any price he sees fit. However it also is within the rights of the general consumer to share retail price information with others. This is what makes an informed consumer.

Notes:
(1) - This is how much extra money (pure profit!) you would be giving Bob Grove if you purchased from Grove Enterprise.
(2) - Grove calls it the Grove ScannerBeam however its not made by Grove and being sold by other sources. I believe its actually manufactured by ChannelMaster or AntennaCraft.
(3) - Grove recently lowered the price from (I believe but may be mistaken) $74.95 which means Grove was charging $20.00 more than AntennaWarehouse.
(4) - The ScanTenna is about the best non-directional antenna I've ever used, and I've tried a lot of different antennas!
(5) - Grove recently lowered the price on this antenna, however not enought! He was charging $9.00 for this antenna.

I have recenly (within the last 2 months) made several orders from National-Electronics, MCM Electronics, and AntennaWarehouse. All three companies had excellent customer service and in each case my order was received in just a few days. I have also bought from Universal Radio however its been awhile. My last purchase from Universal was also handled quickly and professionally.
